B vitamins in optimal form and dosage
Multivitamin OPTIMUM contains a large and responsible amount of B vitamins. We looked carefully at the daily needs of the general population and what the average intake and processing thereof is. Particular attention has been paid to the extent to which the body is able to convert and process the various B vitamins into active compounds. Multivitamin OPTIMUM therefore also contains many of the biologically active (co-enzymatic) forms. For example, vitamin B2 (riboflavin-5'-phosphate), B6 (pyridoxal-5'-phosphate) and B12 (methylcobalamin). These are the vitamin forms as they are ultimately used by the body, which is supported by research showing that these forms have a higher bioavailability in the body than the non-biologically active forms.
But other vitamins, minerals, coenzymes, polyphenols, flavonoids, carotenoids and plant substances are also involved in many processes, in particular processes associated with the following scientifically proven health claims:

Multi-ingredients in the SPOTLIGHTS:
Vitamin B6 as pyridoxal-5′-phosphate
Multivitamin OPTIMUM has specifically chosen pyridoxal-5'-phosphate (P-5'-P), the biologically active form of vitamin B6, and not, for example, the often used pyridoxine HCL, a form of B6 that is still in the body. still needs to be converted. Vitamin B6 in the biologically active form of pyridoxal-5'-phosphate is involved as a cofactor in more than 140 enzyme reactions in the body and therefore has a broad spectrum of physiological effects. Multivitamin OPTIMUM contains pyridoxal-5'-phosphate in a large amount, as the pure and easily absorbable active form.
Vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin
The absorption of vitamin B12 from food and foodstuffs is a complex and sensitive process. Due to the safety of vitamin B12 supplementation and the often difficult absorption of B12 from food and supplements, Multivitamin OPTIMUM contains no less than 12.5 mcg of vitamin B12 (500% RDI) per tablet in the biologically active form methylcobalamin. Many B12 products and multivitamins contain the cheaper, synthetic form of vitamin B12, cyanocobalamin. This form does not occur as such in nature and must first be converted into the active forms by the body. The cyanide part is released from the cobalamin by enzymes and then removed from the body. Studies show that vitamin B12 in the form of the active methylcobalamin has a higher bioavailability than, for example, cyanocobalamin.
Vitamin D3, from vegetable source (Vitashine®)
International governments have recently determined that the intake of vitamin D from food should be higher (15 mcg) and that the maximum permitted dosage could be increased (100 mcg). The importance of higher doses has been known to us and in the professional world for some time. Our vitamin D experts therefore recommend that the vitamin D level of adults should be at least 75 nmol/l. To maintain such vitamin D levels, an oral dose of vitamin D3 of approximately 25-75 mcg per day is required. The Multivitamin OPTIMUM contains sufficient amounts of vitamin D3 (13.7 mcg per tablet) to more than meet this requirement. In addition, our Multivitamin OPTIMUM uses vegetable vitamin D3 (Vitashine®). It is produced from lichen, and not from animal sheep's wool fat (like most vitamin D3 products). This makes all Multivitamin OPTIMUM also suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Stability vitamin K2 (K2VITAL®)
Vitamin K2 appears to be a very sensitive substance. Particularly in combination with calcium and/or magnesium, the activity of this vitamin in a tablet or capsule can decrease sharply. Using vitamin K2 in a product with calcium and/or magnesium is certainly a technical challenge. Free Choice therefore uses a high-quality K2 ingredient with the brand name K2Vital Delta, which is even 100% stable in a formula with a lot of calcium and/or magnesium.
Traces of coral calcium
The coral calcium Multivitamin OPTIMUM provides an ideal, high-quality supplement with trace elements that we need in very small quantities for our health. After all, the high bioavailability of naturally occurring minerals and trace elements in coral are a perfect source to nourish our body. The nutrients in the coral calcium used in Multivitamin OPTIMUM are very well assimilated by the intestine and absorbed by the body.
Choline based on 100% natural tartaric acid (VitaCholine®)
Choline has been included as standard in multivitamins for a long time. But, more and more is now known about choline! In 2012, the European Commission approved three important health claims for choline. It has been proven that choline is important for normal lipid and homocysteine metabolism, but also for normal liver function (detox). In 2016, EFSA also ruled that choline is an essential, indispensable nutrient. Reason enough to include an effective amount of choline in our daily Multivitamin. Multivitamin OPTIMUM uses the best quality choline, from the VitaCholine® brand, a form of choline based on 100% natural tartaric acid. This brand stands for superior quality and a lot of research has been done on it.Beta-carotene
In addition to lutein, our Multivitamin OPTIMUM also contains beta-carotene, a nutrient that belongs to the bioactive group of substances called carotenoids. Carotenoids are important colorants in nature that are responsible for the orange, red and yellow color of fruits and vegetables. There are many carotenoids and they all have unique properties that are useful to the body. Beta-carotene is also called provitamin A. Beta-carotene has an important modulating function when it comes to vitamin A. Our body can convert beta-carotene into vitamin A as needed and will never convert more beta-carotene into vitamin A than it needs. Therefore, no discomfort related to an overdose of vitamin A can occur, because the absorption in the intestine and conversion of beta-carotene into vitamin A is automatically slowed down when the body does not need vitamin A. This makes beta-carotene a safe alternative to standard vitamin A.
Coenzyme Q10
Coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone) is a substance found in the body and is found in the mitochondria (the so-called 'energy factories') of every cell in our body. Loosely translated, 'ubiquinone' roughly means 'present everywhere'. However, as we age, the body's own production of coenzyme Q10 gradually decreases. A compensatory dose of coenzyme Q10 has therefore been added to Multivitamin OPTIMUM.
Polyphenols
Polyphenols are a group of antioxidants that you normally get from food. Foods with the most polyphenol-like substances are mainly turmeric (turmeric), red wine grapes, green tea, broccoli and various citrus fruits. Bioflavonoids are polyphenols that are mainly found in citrus fruits. What is relevant here is that there may be a connection between the presence of bioflavonoids in the diet and bioflavonoids' strengthening effect on the effect of vitamin C. Various scientific insights show that bioflavonoids reduce any vitamin C breakdown in the body. The body can therefore absorb vitamin C better. Finally, in addition to Citrus bioflavonoids, rutin is also a bioflavonoid that has been extensively researched by scientists and to which great value is attached for therapeutic use.
Vitamin B2 as riboflavin-5'-phosphate
Multivitamin OPTIMUM contains vitamin B2 in the biologically active form into which standard riboflavin is converted in the body, namely riboflavin-5'-phosphate. In this body's own form, it plays a role as a coenzyme in all kinds of metabolic processes. Riboflavin-5'-phosphate belongs to a group of natural pigments (flavins). When riboflavin is excreted, it gives the urine a characteristic bright yellow color. To support good health, Multivitamin OPTIMUM contains a generous dose of vitamin B2 in pure, biologically active form.
Inositol
Inositol is a vitamin-like compound found in the tissues of our bodies and in certain food sources. Although the substance sometimes has a
When it is called a B vitamin, it is not technically a vitamin, especially because our cells are also able to produce this substance themselves. However, inositol works closely with several essential B vitamins (pyridoxine – B6, folic acid – B9) and pantothenic acid – B5). Because Inositol fulfills important functions in the human body that are important for the collaboration with B vitamins, we have added a balanced dose of Inositol to Multivitamin OPTIMUM.
PABA
PABA, which is an abbreviation of Para-Amino-Benzoic Acid or para-amino-benzoic acid, is also not a formal B vitamin, but is also closely linked to the vitamin B complex. PABA is water soluble and is considered one of a kind because it is 'a vitamin within a vitamin', commonly found in combination with folic acid. PABA is naturally present in grain and wheat products, bran, brown rice, brewer's yeast and molasses, but can also be partly produced by the body itself. Because PABA fulfills several functions in the human body and is especially important for the cooperation between folate and other nutrients, we have added a balanced dose of PABA to Multivitamin OPTIMUM.
Rosehip
The rose hip is the fleshy fruit of a rose. The shape and color of the fruit may vary and depend on the origin of the rose. The rose is found as a variety in Europe, Asia, South America and North America. The botanical name for the rosehip bush is Rosa Canina, which means 'Rose of the Dog' or 'Dog Rose'. Rosehip is known for its good source of Vitamin C, the essential vitamin that contributes to resistance to external influences and to the body's own formation of collagen. This substance is good for the immune system and maintaining healthy psychological function. Because Rosehip is a source of a broad spectrum of vitamins and minerals, and is especially important for the supplementation of small amounts of trace elements, we have added a balanced dose of Rosehip to Multivitamin OPTIMUM.
Lutein
Lutein is a carotenoid that occurs in plants, among other things. Carotenoids form a large group of plant substances that are often added to food because of their special properties.
Lutein is found in various types of foods and is mainly found in green vegetables such as kale, broccoli, spinach, green beans and Brussels sprouts. Lutein is also found in corn and yellow pepper and in the fruits mango, papaya and orange. Eggs also contain lutein, which gives the egg yolk its yellow color.
In addition to food, lutein can also be obtained through nutritional supplements. These supplements are often recommended because lutein also occurs together with zeaxanthin in the yellow spot (macula) in the eye. This yellow spot is located on the retina and ensures sharp vision. The lutein in supplements is usually extracted from the yellow leaves of the marigold. By taking Multivitamin OPTIMUM you get enough lutein to experience the benefits of this substance.
Acerola extract
Acerola is a berry mainly found in Brazil. Because the berries look like cherries, acerola is also called the acerola cherry, West Indian cherry or Barbados cherry. Every type of fruit contains vitamins, but acerola is really different, full of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients such as polyphenols.
Acerola is best known for its enormous content of vitamin C or ascorbic acid. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that, among other things, supports your resistance and prevents free radicals. In addition, vitamin C supports the connective tissue in your skin. Because this vitamin also supports your resistance, many people take extra vitamin C during the flu season.
Acerola fruit is also known for its polyphenols, nutrients that are also antioxidants. Like many other substances with an antioxidant effect, polyphenols counteract free radicals. They protect your body cells, as it were. Because acerola is a source of several vitamins and minerals, but is especially important for the supplementation of small amounts of polyphenols, we have added a sufficient dose of acerola to Multivitamin OPTIMUM.
