KNOWLEDGE AND PRODUCT INFORMATION

At Natural Performance Booster, we hold substantial knowledge about health and the supportive role of natural nutrients. We're excited to share this insight with professionals through our website, www.npb.amsterdam.

Significant research is dedicated to understanding the health effects of various nutrients. However, the findings often don't reach a broader audience, and scientific publications aren't always easily digestible for everyone.

Our goal through this knowledge platform is to help athletes gain insights into the importance of healthy nutrition and a wholesome lifestyle. We aim to empower them to naturally enhance their sports performance and overall well-being.

PRODUCT INFORMATION

Due to current Dutch and European laws and regulations, we regretfully can't provide comprehensive information about how our products function and their applications from Natural Performance Booster. Nevertheless, on our website, we're pleased to share details about the unique quality aspects of our products and any approved health claims. Additionally, we provide essential information about the composition and ingredients (including allergens) and practical usage advice (such as when and how to use the products and any other considerations for optimal and safe use).

(APPROVED) HEALTH CLAIMS

Each product section features approved health claims or provisionally approved health claims. These are the endorsements allowed when promoting the respective product.

In the past, a supplier of dietary supplements could promote all health-promoting properties based on their own judgment of sufficient evidence. This is no longer the case. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) required the food industry to submit all health claims they intended to make, and these claims were evaluated. Only very few health claims have been approved, in our opinion, undeservedly so.

The effects of nutrition on healthy individuals may only become noticeable after an extended period, and due to their diversity, they are more challenging to measure. This makes the effects of nutrition on health difficult to demonstrate. Moreover, according to the EFSA, the research must not be conducted on patients or individuals with health issues (as that would fall into the realm of medicinal products), while much of the submitted evidence consisted of such cases.

Unfortunately, this legislation naturally limits Natural Performance Booster in providing information on new scientific insights related to our products.

We occasionally introduce products on which we are allowed to say very little because the justification is still in the early stages (but promising) or because the research was conducted on people with health issues. For detailed information on the scientific basis of nutrient use in complementary medicine, we encourage you to visit www.npb.amsterdam. Since no products are recommended there, you can find extensive information on the scientific foundation of nutrient use in complementary medicine.

Botanical On-Hold Claims

Within the claim regulations, there is a separate category for herbs and other plant-based preparations, known as 'botanicals.' The EFSA has not yet made a decision on how the submitted health claims for this type of nutrient should be assessed. Until the EFSA's final evaluation takes place, it will still be possible, under certain conditions, to use submitted but not yet approved health claims for herbal preparations (referred to on our site as '(provisionally) approved health claims').
